Which engine...JDM or US?

Wow!!!! Its been a long time since I've posted on here. Only because I've been without my legend for the engine is gone. I know, this a stupid wuestion but, should I get JDM or US? I need to get my Legend back on the road.

JDM would be the preferred choice because of lower mileage.

Wow, that's a great-looking coupe! Factory foglights, too. Corey has a good point, not only are the JDM engines quite inexpensive (one on eBay right now is $395 before shipping), but they usually have around 35K miles and run a good 15hp more than the U.S. engines.

Great! I knew what the answer would be, just wanted assurance. And thanks for the compliment NS. Anything I should change while the engine is out, besides the wp, tp and front main seal?

Which JDM are you going with? I was reading about a turbo one that was made. Probably a little hard to come by though.

The JDM C20T is gonna need it's ECU to run the Wing Turbo. The ones that are being sold on eBay don't come with the proper ECU. But there are the JDM C27 that has really low mileage. But if you live in a state that requires emission, you'll gonna need to add a couple of things to make it pass smog.

^ Good plan, the C27 is a stronger block as it is.

Never been there, but I imagine average trip driving is much shorter distance than U.S.

I heard that Japan only allows for a certain mileage on older engines because of the smog or air regulations. I may have it wrong but its something along those lines.

I think Japan has a tax code which penalizes older vehicles. Probably a failed attempt by statist nitwits to jump start their economy, similar to our cash for clunkers nonsense. The keynesian broken window fallacy.

That's also the source of all those micro trucks popping up on farms everywhere. And they don't (or at least didn't when they first starting shipping them here) have to meet any safety or emissions standards because they are classified as "agricultural equipment."
