I just thought I share my lastest retro with the RL community here. Here are some pics:

here is a short and brief DIY on how I mounted the projectors; there are alot of steps that i skipped so if there's any questions, feel free to ask me:

Mounted but not aligned
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...2/IMG_9750.jpg

Noticed the red circles; that's where I used 2 bolts to mount the projector
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...IMG_9749-1.jpg

I marked the top of the reflector as the center and where the projector should be pointed; still not yet aligned
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...IMG_9755-1.jpg

The rear of the projector and its markings to align the projector so it would be level and pointed in the right direction
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...IMG_9763-1.jpg

Test fitting the shroud; not yet trimmed
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...2/IMG_9771.jpg

Spacing the lens and testing it out in the basement

Mounted, aligned, and cleaned

Shroud trimmed to fit reflector perfectly

parts wise, it costed me about $375. labor wise, costed me a weekend. injury wise, developed a cold from staying in the garage too long in this freezing mid-west weather.

SuperLegend91 V2.0 01-28-09 05:13 PM

very nice!

Wow, that looks like a lot of work. Did you heat the lamps to separate the glass from black plastic backiing?

Those look really good.

G1goldcoupe 01-29-09 03:19 AM

very cool man, looks good

rayhk 01-29-09 06:06 AM

wow, very impressive. The width of LS430 projectors is insane. You use TSX clear replica lenses, spacer right? I just check out your thread in hidplanet.com. Great craftsmanship, I am speechless.

Double Glow 01-29-09 06:44 AM

amazing, looks OEM!

aftermathacura 01-29-09 10:52 AM

that came out really nice!! its good to see someone willing to do a custom mod around here. its not always about what you can order and bolt on, some people forget that.

yes, i used the TSX replica clear lenses from the retrofitsource and a spacer. the width is amazing with these. i can light up 5 lanes of freeway easily.
