Is this the plug that plugs in closest to the temp gauge? Is your mech. going to splice in the new harness for you?

There is a junkyard here in memphis that has a lot of 91-95 Legends. It's www.eaststreet.com.
If you email them with some pics and a good description they may help you. They will ship it to you.

Yeah, it plugs in perpendicular to the floor board. Directly under the intrument panel. They will splice it in for me.
I'll check with the place you recommended.

thanks.

buyer beware... i bought a car from Rameez and now i am having many mechanical problems when he said the car is running nice.. i didn't care about interior and exterior because it was going to be redone, but he lied to me... the car is having valve seal problems, the lights in the interior don't work right, and it needs total services from ball joint down to rackapinion..

and now what can i do? next time i get a car i'm gonna bring it to the mechanics and make them do a full examination before i buy it.

Pito11213 09-03-06 12:28 PM

Did you contact him about the problems?

Didn't you just sell your car on here or something?

mr_cox 09-03-06 05:15 PM

i did contact him about the problem and he saying some bullshit like nah, thats a lie... i have the mechanics aut straut auto look at the car, and they wrote down everything..

i think he should give me back some of my money.. :(

selling under false pretences deserve a asswooping

and yeah i advertised my car for sale here, but my friend bought it from me, because he knew what the engine was like and how i treated it.. it just had a dent on the door and needed a radio, which he fixed and he said its 100% stable

I don't trust any mechanic from those parts stores. I would take it to an independant where I could see for myself.

How did it feel on the way back to Jersey? I think you two could come to an understanding.

it was raining so i was actually going really slow.. but what happend is the steering did feel loose, kinda like how the sedan stearing feels..

Jetdoc, I emailed that place and haven't gotten a response. Do you have any other suggestions on where I can find the wiring harness?

Jetdoc 09-06-06 12:00 AM

Did you try calling them. (901)774-5374
I don't know of another place but I'm sure there are others. Did you get any response from forum members parting out their car? This might be the best route.

Check here in the "Parting out" section

My questions for all 2nd Gen owners,

I'm thinking of buying a Legend frivale/dealer and would like to know what other obvious stuff should I pay attention to during my inspection?

Thanks,

joelvigor 12-04-06 04:35 PM

Being that the Acura Vigor is almost the exact same car as the legend, should I look for the same things? I bought a 92 Vigor with 139k, and i noticed that it heats up occasionally.. ??

Uhhhh ... they're not nearly the exact same car. Different engine and different platforms. They're very similar in overall size, style, and quality, but they're different animals. The first-gen TL was sort of a hybrid cross of the two.

That said, the BHG, speed sensor malfunction, and thermostat are probably all good things to look for in diagnosing the overheat problem.

THAT IS WHY YOU HAVE AN ACURA MECHANIC LOOK AT THE CAR BEFORE BUYING

IF YOU DO NOT WANT AN ISSUE, PAY THE PRICE FOR A PRE PURCHACE INSPECTION. IT IS WORTH IT. ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE SERVICE RECORDS ARE DECENT. BUY FROM SOMEONE OVER 35 AND CHECK THE RADIATOR. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY NOW IN ANY LEGEND. THEY NORMALLY GO AT 10 YEARS OR AROUND 80-90K. IF NOT DONE-DO IT ASAP AFTER PURCHASE-EVEN IF STILL WORKING.

Listen to this man, even if he is screaming in all capitals.

Pre-purchase inspections can save you a ton of money.

goin to buy my legend tomorrow

im goin to look at a legend i plan to buy tomorrow let me see if i have everything i need:
i should ask if he has replaced the t belt, radiator, water pump and hopefully the headgasket

and to make sure it doesnt have a bhg i should watch the temp guage and i should mark the overflow and see if it goes up.

short of compression tests is there anything else i could do to make sure i dont get screwed?

thanks for the help!
