i need help i have a 92 acura legend that has a blinking d4 light and my speed dometer is going wacko adn check engine light is on i pulled codes for the d4 light and im reading a code 4 witch checks out to be the vss but when when i search vss i get a part that is not even on the transmission its next to the oil filter can someone help my im realy confused i just want to make sure i get the right part

That is the correct part, it is next to the oil filter. It has two power steering hoses going in. Only the electrical portion has to be switched out. The part can be ordered from Acura of Augusta. Also mention that you are from the forum and you can get a discount.

It is an easy straight forward repair. This is the first repair I have ever done in my Legend like 8 years ago. I made the mistake of putting in a whole used unit. It had the mechanical and electrical part. The sensor failed after a week or two. I highly suggest replacing only the electrical part with a new one. Only special tool involved is a torx bit. I don't remember what size exactly. I didnt have any at the time and had to buy the bit I needed.
Seems the more expensive one is more complete and that the less expensive one is missing parts? Is it harder to install the less expensive one versus the complete one?

That's because the whole kit isn't needed and just the repair kit is needed.
