Alternator Install - Sleeve Problem

I am having a bitch of the time trying to get my alternator installed. The bolt pass thru on the alternator for the lower bolt is about 2 1/4 long. I cannot get it place and can certainly use an extra 1/16.; the alternator sleeve is the culprit. I can grind it down but don’t want to do that. Does anyone know how to slide the sleeve out a little?

Problem solved. Acura Legend LS 4 DR. I used a bolt, slid a couple of sockets behind and in front of the sleeve and tightened. One socket was smaller to push and one socket larger to act as a receptacle. It was enough to then position the alternator and tap it in with a 2x4.
