Another 18 inch wheel and tire question

Ok... yes I did search. Found alot of answers.... but many were not the exact size whene it came to responces. I got a set of 18x7.5s and dthey are a +42... whata ttires may I run? I am planning one lowering the car some...not trying to tuck but pretty low. I have no problem rolling fenders.

Will these work and what size tire?

Well I'm running 18 x 7.5 Lorenzo's with 225/40/18. Maybe this will get you in the ball park. Dont look at the tires in the pic below. They were all bald. I just bought the car and put a brand new set of tires on it. It looks better now. Maybe a 235/40/18 will be good for you.

This is from an older thread about what wheel/tire setups to run (I think its from rangerjoe):

17x7 w/ 205/50-17 tires = +40 or higher
17x7 w/ 215/45-17 tires = +42 or higher
17x7.5 w/ 215/45-17 tires = +42 or higher
17x7.5 w/ 225/40-17 tires = +44 or higher
17x8 w/ 225/40-17 tires = +45 or higher (+48 would be best)
17x8 w/ 225/35-17 tires = +48 or higher
18x7 w/ 215/45-18 tires = +42 or higher
18x7 w/ 225/40-18 tires = +44 or higher
18x7.5 w/ 215/40-18 tires = +44 or higher
18x7.5 w/ 225/40-18 tires = +45 or higher
18x8 w/ 225/40-18 tires = +48 or higher
18x8 w/ 235/40-18 tires = +48 or higher (+51 would be best)

You happen to know the offset?

225/40 will be just fine; even after you lower the car your 225/40's will tuck nicley. I seriously doubt if you have to roll the fenders. My coupe was 3 inches down and it never rubbed, but my offset was +45, but the +42 offset will be fine. If you had the +40 offset then I'd be concerned. 215/35 tires will expose your rims too much, IMO.

Do a search on Leon Millete(sp) car Jasymn(sp). If I'm not mistaken he had 18x7.5 with the +42.

I'm running 18x7.5 with a +42 wheel and 225/40/18 Yokahama Parada Spec II tires and I had to roll and widen my rear fenders to prevent scraping. Some tires are different though, it depends on the actual width of the tire on the rim. I've had 225/40/18 Nitto tires (JUNK) that were smaller in width than a 225/40/18 Toyo tire.
