Keeping this simple as possible:

The people who own the forum wanted to charge members a vendor fee of $1000 a year if they want to sell parts on the forum.

Lots of uproar, lots of honored and respected members got banned, mods were demoted, all with out warning.

Members were against this, so they created a new forum.

Thanks to Stew, who replaced Nadeem, the vendor fees have been lifted, but damage has been done.

Now everybody is trying to figure out where do we go from here.

I've been wondering what to do myself. As it has been mentioned already things are back to normal but the damage has been done.

The banned will be un-banned and the vendor fee's will be waived. Will it still be necessary to start all over again at the .org site or just let by gone's be by gone's and continue being one family at the .com site?

For now, most of my attention will be on this board, however I have registered at the .org site and will pop in from time to time just to see whats good.

I don't think most of the old crew will be back. Pushing corporate ideals in a grassroots forum was not the smartest move.

With a growing population on "the other side", and no banner ads to suffer through, I think many will not be back.

I watched this happen. What an unexpected and strange turn of events, especially when I was not even aware this forum was sold ...

one minute everything was "normal" and the next day guys are swearing at Nadeem, trying ( it seemed ) and to get bannned, and a new forum is created overnight !

I really don't see how Nadeem's error about vendor fees ( now corrected ) was enough for everyone to walk away from all the information that's already here, BUT obviously it is !

I think there may be some second thoughts about the wisdom of starting all over again once the excitement dies down and everyone gets tired of talking about how Nadeem screwed up and got pulled off A-L.com.

I suppose I will wait and see if this place continues or dies off.

From what I understand, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. People were very frustrated when the site was sold, and immediately there were more advertisements and banners (which are annoying). Also, along with vendor fees, there would be added rules about group buys, using iTrader, and others.

Same thing happens when a business gets sold out. People aren't happy when a new boss comes in and changes everything, especially if there was nothing that really NEEDED to be changed, and ESPECIALLY when the only foresight is making more money, and NOT improving the quality of the organization. Only difference here: people can quit, and not lose pay.

I think this will be my last post. It's been real. Join "the dark side" today!

I barely even see the ads, they only pissed me off when I accidently clicked on them, lol. Annoying yes, but no big deal

from what i saw in the past few days, people weren't leaving because of the ads or the rule changes or the vendor fees. It was nadeem's total disrespect and disregard of the voices of the community. not to mention the tyrannical power trip he went on: censoring free speech, banning some of our most respected members for expressing their opinions, deleting records of his actions...etc

From my standpoint, you can either be at a place that was created as the banner says, "For Enthusiasts, By Enthusiasts" (.org) or here, where none of the site owners own Legends, look at us only as a revenue source and could care less about what we've created over the years. That's a no-brainer, wouldn't you say?

I am still amazed at how quickly this happened.

Initially, I thought an exodus was a threat that would never materialize, then I thought eveyone would go and come back here .....but now, I am almost convinced this is a permanent division of the Legend community and the start of a viable alternative to A-L.com.

I guess I'm a bit slow.
