Question DARK brown differential oil - Normal???

When I rebuilt and replaced my own CV axle, I had to drain my differential gear oil, I came out dark brown!!

I know for tranny oil, it's suppose to stay clear light pink always to be normal and good.

But for engine oil, it's normal that the oil turns dark dark brown when it's time for an oil change.

How about differential gear oil? What color is it suppose to be when it's time to change it?

I know that anything to do with gearing is very important, and signs of discoloration of the oil is something is wearing down inside. So I am paranoid.

Hm.. I bought Castrol Diff fluid, and it's light light brown in color.
But I'm just wondering is it normal for color to change in the diff gear oil?

If not, then the previous own mustn't change it in a longgg time.

I've changed diff oil on several different cars, and it usually comes out BLACK! I use Pennzoil 80W-90, and it goes in a light amber colour.

I doubt that the brown colour indicates anything wrong with the diff. For the small amount of money it costs (one washer and one quart of oil), I'd just make a habit of changing it once a year or so.
