Gearbox Hoses.

Hello all,

I've a quick question about a small hose that leads out of the (4spd automatic) transmission. Photos are attached.

In the first photo, you are looking at the space behind the engine, in an area next to the fuel filter. The fuel filter is located on the right side of the car. Hopefully you can see the transmission hose that just ends abruptly.

(There's a similar hose like that on the car's underside, below where the ac unit is. I'm assuming that's for condensation to escape, judging by the puddle below the hose that forms after use of the ac.)

In the second photo, you can see where the transmission hose starts. It comes out of the top of the transmission.

The third photo is a close-up of the second photo.

Is...this normal?

Photos are labelled. Hopefully the digital handwriting is clear and readable.

Good day.

That is the air breather hose, in the Service Manual called breather Pipe.

Many gearboxes have this detail.

Greetings
Ralph

Thanks for the reply!

And that's okay; I now know for sure that it's something not to worry about!
