HELP with Aftermarket Timing Components!!

Hi everyone, I am needing to replace my timing belt, water pump and tensioner pulley on my 1992 Legend LS Sedan with 57,150 all original car.

So my question is, has everyone ever used aftermarket timing components, such brands (found on Amazon.com) as Dayco, Gates, Continental, DNJ, MOCA, ACDelco, Evergreen, GMB, ITM & ContiTech and there is the "timing belt only" by Bando with great success, meaning you got the same mileage or age as with OEM Honda parts??

That being said, I would "LOVE" to replace all my timing components with HONDA brand parts, but as you know Honda has quite manufacturing parts for these Legend's, so you are left with NOS (New Old Stock) parts and if you're lucky to find them, there price is sky high!😒

So if anyone has any ideas or any reviews on which aftermarket components to use it would be greatly appreciated!😊

Thanks!

Hello!

I hope this helps, but I have used the brand Dayco before for my new thermostat.

It's been half a year since I did the replacement. It's still working.

So perhaps Dayco is a brand you could look into.

Aftermarket Timing Components

I just had my son, a mechanic, replace my timing belt, water pump, pulleys, idler and all the other belts, on my 2000 RL. 125,00 miles I used the Continental brand. Don't cheap out, in this area, it's way too much work. Wow! low mileage on your car, but unfortunately, age matters too. Good Luck

Thanks for the advice on which brand to use 94Acleg!

But I was told that the Atsugi brand (for the water pump) is a very good replacement for the Honda/Acura brand and I was able to find it for $130.00.

Also the Koyo brand (for the timing belt tensioner pulley) is the same that Honda/Acura uses and I was able to find it for $21.00.

I also got a brand new Honda timing belt for about $50.00!😊

So I think I got everything I need to do the timing belt replacement.

Oh, I also have the 2 camshaft seals, crankshaft seal and 3 gallons Honda type 2 antifreeze.

I think I have everything I need to do the job correctly, I hope!!!🤔

Thanks for all the help and advice and please be safe, God Bless!🙏
