Thanks for all the response about my accident. I am on my way to the doctor today to see where I stand with all the pain I have. I hate looking at my hurt car in the garage. I loved that car. It was my favorite car ever...........Sincerely, Patty (Chucks better half)

I had a similar incident happen to me at...Jacknbox drive thru. I'm just sittin there then..bam I get bumped by teenies in an suv. I'm wheelchair-para, so imagine my dilemma of having to check for damage. And all I wanted was to get my sirloin burger fix.

Glad to hear that nothing critical happened to the wifey.

The verdict is in - complete loss; insurance is offering $5300 for "extra" excellent condition. Adjuster said it was cleanest & nicest car he had ever seen. Not much consolation for the loss. More pondering on the utlimate decision to be made. As we talk about it it's a though you've lost a member of the family - saddened at the loss and what it means to move on without that ever familiar face, always faithful, ready to wisk you away in style that only a Legend can deliver...

Oh Lord, say it ain't so!

Damn dude...thats a hella good price...whats the offer if you retain the car?

If you dont retain it, might I suggest removing the rims, power antenna, stereo, speakers, woodgrain, and catalytic converter...maybe even the leather seats...

You can sell the cat for the platinum and either transfer the rest to your replacement car as needed or sell them all online for even more cash...

this made me a bit sick to my stomach as I had some ignorant little biaotch rear-end me also while she was chatting up a cell phone conversation. Very sad thing to happen to suck a mint sedan. Glad your wife isn't seriously hurt. I pray she doesn't have whiplash.

I feel for you, I to have been rear ended by a girl on her phone. It's to bad others have to suffer because idiots get to caught up to pay attention. Very sad to see such a beautiful car get salvaged as a result.

Man that absolutely sucks. That was such a nice Legend. If you do get rid of it +1 on parting it to some extent. Once again, really sorry about your loss.

Brain, I can buy it back for about a grand. I don't know if I can handle parting her out, but if someone wants it I will get it back. It has 80K on the engine, T/B was done at 40k, just installe new platinum plugs last week, auto tranny is strong, new radiator, interior is flawless Type-F(I think), new rear brakes, bose audio, etc. etc. etc. I'm working on trying to get the wheels and tires (new) off at least w/out having to buy it. It would make a great donor car to make one with a not so perfect interior nearly perfect.

What do you think?

On a side note, we just decided to purchase a mint 1995 Lexus LS400 pearl white with blue/grey interior, 88k from an older retired couple who just bought a new Lexus. The missus decided she was ready for a change after nearly 10 years - who am I to argue - she deserves whatever she wants!

Chuck- I heard about the accident but somehow missed this post. Glad to hear the wife is ok and I would say that Lexus sounds like a nice find. It sounds like they gave you a pretty fair price for the Legend, well maybe not in the shape it was in. As painful as it is, you definitely should buy it back for $1k. The wheels alone are worth a good chunk of that I would have to believe.
