It looks like the Sedan will continue on in the after life by benefitting two of our members here who have decided to save her from the crusher. I'm glad her "organ donor" card was in place, and as I said previous, I really don't have the time/space/desire to part her out - plus I don't think I (nor my wife) could stand watching her slowly disappear piece by piece - it's better to remember her in all her glory in entirety!

Thank-you again to everyone for your concern and kind words. And please remember to think twice before taking your eyes off the road - it's amazing how fast time and distance you can travel when you're not focused on the task at hand, i.e., maintaining absolute control of your vehicle!

They just passed a law here that would cite that girl with a class B misdemeanor for your accident.

ksl.com - New law cracks down on texting drivers

That law kicks ass but it's hard to prove.

its great to hear that it avoided the crusher. Is it going to be rebuilt or parted out?

sad as it is....she's gonna get parted out. Mark (bandoni) and I are going to put all those perfect parts to good use between his '93 and my '91 + '94. Perfect 80k mile T1 engine, R-134 A/C system with climate control, perfect leather interior + wood grain, new radiator, new plugs, new tint on the windows...the list goes on and on! TG for the donor card....she will live on and pass new life!

even cell phone pics cant hide the minty-ness of this car!

No problem guys - our loss is your gain - it is good to know that she will continue to live on though not quite the way we expected! Shoot, I've already mounted the wheels and tires onto the coupe too! Hey is that drool on the front seats?! Pics to follow...

The Handover - The Final Day

Ok, here are a few photos of the transfer of our recently departed/salvaged 1993 Legend LS Sedan to Chris (GrtOutdoorsAZ) and Mark (Bandoni).

The negotiation...

The transaction...

The reposition (note the GS wheel replacement)...

The Handing of the Keys...

The getaway...

Farewell my friend(s)! ...as a tear is shed...

New Shoes!

My other baby just turned 25,000 miles and with 'new' shoes! April 14, 2009. Note photos by Samsung Instinct personal communication device, so not the best quality...

The event happened on Scottsdale Road (enroute to Tyson's)...thought I could make it before it turned 35k, oh well, missed it by 4 miles...

The silver lining in all of this is that the sedan will live on in so many ways - Mark and Chris get to have fun with the car, and the wheels have transitioned to the coupe. Glad to see that in the end things seem to have worked out, even though it's still very unfortunate that a pristine, 80k mile LS sedan has met such a fate. Thanks for the photo documentation throughout as surely you'll want to remember this day! It was 9 good years with that car, right? Hope Patty is enjoying the new Lexus.

I realize hindsight is 20/20, while not worth much. But did you see what all replacements/repairs would cost? I know nothing about repair work, for all I know the body damage could cost half of the payout... but it's still worth investigating IMO. You'd have to register it as "salvage," but it WAS a beautiful car, and with nothing hurting the drivability... rear bumper, trunk lid, rear body, suspension... the only really non-DIY/junkyard part to fix would be any frame damage, as far as I know.

But then again, I don't know a lot, so...

this cars suspension is tweaked very bad all of the doors don't close right. I closed the drivers door to hard and we had to yank it hard just so i could get back out. those pictures don't do that damage justice, it's really bad.

She's a great parts car. I wish I could find a parts car like that.
That's a good death for her.
