Problems after engine swap,,,,pissed

Hello,

I recently had my 1991 cobalt blue/blue interior Legend engine swapped for a type 2 engine. The guy who did the work is a mechanic of Acura and I know him very well. But unfortunately for me I have some problems that he can't correct. When I gave him the car the heads were shot, but engine started right up fine. I had a Compustar alarm installed years ago and it worked when I gave him the car. Now alarm is not working, auto -start is not working, factory alarm is not working, courtesy chime is not working and radio has no sound now.

Any ideas on what he did wrong?

It sounds like:

a ground issue, fuse issue or a wiring issue.

If he works for Acura he should be able to ask a tech with more knowledge how to correct his mistakes.

I'd start with making sure all grounds are connected, clean and secure. Than move on to fuses and wiring.

Thanks....since he did this on his own time.i am thinking maybe he's cautious about asking someone from Acura . He did change my ignition harness as well. Perhaps he did something there. I can't imagine so many things not working. The engine seems to be fine right now,but only time will tell. I need to get this corrected since I have absolutely no alarm at all. Pissed !!!!

Follow-up on engine swap

The alarm is working now. It was in valet mode and he was unaware of how to correct it. Happens when the key is turn on 5x. That's MY error. The radio is still not working it is on but no sound.
n
But I have a bigger issue acthat just developed. Now my engine is revving on it's own when i start it. It does not happen all the time but it does rev up and down. The last time I saw that was the beginning of a head gasket issue.

Looks like I may have been had by a friend. Any comments?

From my own observations of Legend owners that have traveled the road you are on (engine swap), there is a breaking-in period. As long as your mechanic isn't giving-up, stay with him. All of the issues you're having appear to be minor. I realize they're not minor to you, but it sounds like you're getting closer to being fully broken in.

Thanks for the support. I've had this car since 1991 original owner. So you know the attachment. I hope he stays with it. I'm looking for a great knowledgable legend mechanic in NJ. My friend is in NYC so it makes it a pain to keep going back and forth. Thanks again for all of you guys support. I will keep you posted
