running rough at low rpm ??? too soon for Ball joints??
Just getting my recently acquired 91 L sedan on the road, and had it checked out today by my trusted mechanic's shop. Although the car handles very well (straight, solid, quiet on the street and highway) they tell me I need both front lower ball joints replaced; and both rear lower stabilizer link bushings replaced. Car has 244k kms (about 145k miles) on it. Are these suspension issues "normal" for this amount of mileage? Car starts and runs fine (just replaced the thermostat as the car seemed to be running a bit hot ...and lower rad hose was not heating up very fast) ...however, I've noticed that as I rev the engine up from idle to about 2k rpm, at about 1200 rpm the engine runs rough ...almost like one of the spark plugs is not firing ...but then as the rpms increase, it smooths out, and seems to be running fine ....any suggestions??
