It'd definately be stupid of someone to just light up in public. But, if youre going there on vacation and look for it, I can almost guarantee you that there will be very easy access to it and you probably definately won't feel as paranoid around there. Also, if you get caught they will enforce the lightest sentence possible on you. Probably $300-$400 fine, and some court costs, and you'll be on deferred adjudication (this is all for first time offenders).
I believe it's only if you're caught outside of your home with your stash. Basically you're now free to grow as much sticky-icky as you can and smoke until your lungs turn green (at which point you should resort to making brownies instead )
This is basically what NORML has been fighting for on a national scale for decade's.

Apparently, in the city limits of Denver, posession is legal. I don't think its legal to smoke though, and colorado state law still applies (illegal). This is what I've been hearing on the news and from people in denver.

so basically, it achieves nothing because state laws overpower the city laws? Or are you able to have it, just inside denver?
