I have a decision to make, and would like peoples input.

Okay here's the deal.

2 weekends ago I totaled my brothers Toyota 4 Runner I'm normally a good driver and I'm not trying to make excuses but I'm really not used to driving SUV's and the car was having troubles: the traction control and stability control were not working. It was pouring down rain, I was going around a turn, the back end slid around, I over corrected and knocked down a light pole. << There is more to the story and I can post pics and stuff but I want to get to the point.

My brother is looking for a new car, and he has been driving my RL around this past week.

He made me an offer to buy the RL for $5000 its a 2001 w/ 124K so his offer is pretty solid.

Now, that would leave me with $5000 and my old 92 legend, which needs a new motor.

So what do you guys think? I was going to sell the 92 legend sorta cheap considering its condition, and keep the RL. But with this offer I could put the $5000 into the 92 and fix her up.

So what would you guys do? Keep the bone stock RL and let my brother continue looking for a car, or drop $5000 into my old legend? The legend would get stuff like new leather interior, new motor, and some paint and rims.

keep the rl. it is newer and in my opinion doesnt look as dated. dont get me wrong, legends are great cars but i would rather drive a car that is 8 years newer.

i would keep the legend & the 5k, sell the RL and drop 5k into the Legend, i mean with 5K your legend could come up to par with a car that's 8 years younger.

my .2¢

Sell the RL. Use the $5k to get a 3.5 swap and interior updates and you'll be set man.

IMO, putting $5,000 into a Legend is a poor decision and will be a bad investment.
I'd keep the RL

Keep the RL...nothing unwise about that decision...

I'd help him find an RL though

sorry to hear about that man, ive seen a bunch of those 4runners rollover, im a little scared of them now. Id say depends on the condition of the 92. If the interior is really shot then id stick with the RL. If the interior is nice, then $5K does a sick Legend make!
