Sticking with this site WOULD mean saving us a lot of work... but IDK if the others really care about that too much. We'll see... I'm open to it, although, the point was made of, "what's gonna keep this from happening again?"

I think it's about time to ask us, "What do you guys want from me?" I honestly don't know what the answer will be, though.

thats my question. people are saying that something big needs to happen to regain their trust and I'm like what the fuck do you want? I mean what can Stew really do aside from what he's already done? nothing more, but a whole lot less.

Since everyone went to that site, there's nothing to do on this one. I still lurk, just nothing to post.

He can unban the members that were banned in this mess....

Nino418 is still banned and needs access to his PM box.

The conciliatory gesture is a beginning. I think there are a couple of thing whose lack is painfully apparent:

1. Nadeem's MO for trying to implement a flawed policy was short-sighted and high-handed to say the least.
2. His behavior in dealing with the backlash was unacceptable.
3. His feeble attempt at claiming misunderstandings and computer error to try and justify himself was just downright unforgivable.

He owes a lot of people a genuine apology.

Having said that, it remains to be seen whether or not the site can be salvaged and even go back to its glory days, but it is a very daunting task to try and make right such a tremendous example of human failure (as Nadeem displayed). Good luck Stew, you seem like a reasonable man and perhaps you might find a way out of this yet.

I think they're still sorting stuff out about the folks who were on the wrong side of the banstick when everything went down. I'll see what is going on with that.

what's there to sort out. they need to be unbanned, end of sorting.

edit: they should have been unbanned for over 24hrs now by my count if they wanted this forum to survive.

I, like you, am on the outside looking in man. I just know that the unbanning stuff hasn't been completed if I'm correct, because a lot of people got caught in that shit storm.

Like anything else - time will tell how either or both forums survive. Personally I'll frequent both.

For me there isn't any "Line drawn in the sand" and where ever I can get good info, from good people, thats where I'll be, and I happen to think that could mean both forums.

Being a forum owner and Mod (on a handful of differnet forums) since 1996 I've found that things happen, people will come and go, but it you put the needs of the many forum members over the needs of the few you'll have a decent forum.

Talking about people getting unbanned?

I did but still no one has gotten back to me about fixing my post count and threads.

And it looks like my other thread was also deleted.

Well said, Dave. Time will tell.
