The idiots in Sacramento will no doubt pass this, and attach some big fat riders to it and spend up 2X the revenue it brings in. All in the name of progress.

I need a soma holiday.
usually I pretty much follow your train of thought Aaron, but this time i disagree. I think this would be a very positive thing (no i am not a drug addict or anything I have never done any drugs or even drank alcohol for that matter). for one it would turn all those pot growers into entrepreneurs, plus think of how much money law enforcement agency's would save not having to enforce and incarcerate people who use pot. Another thing this would help is with all the pot smuggling in mexico, if its legal theres no point in smuggling it right? hopefully legislation like this will cut down on a lot of the marijuana cartels south of the border (yeah yeah i know they will just move on to pedaling another vice ) personally i never understood why pot was illegal in the first place, its a perfectly natural herb that grows everywhere. now drugs like meth, coke, and the like i can understand they are manufactured and who knows whats in them. (kinda like cigs too) just my sober .02 cents.

There always has been a black market, and there always will be a black market.
My statement before, however, is just a general observation of how the legislature of the state of California 'works'. We raise taxes by X, and the smart guys up in Sacramento decide they can raise spending by Z. Z being greater than X, of course. Then, they will divert money from the transportation fund to the general fund (AGAIN) because they can't pay each other's salaries. Then, when that is done, they will give themselves another raise and it will start all over again.
Maybe we should legalize cocaine to really run the Columbians out of business.

I'm with you. Who's more confident than a cocaine user? Consumer confidence will skyrocket and we'll be out of this great depression in no time.
Man if they legalize weed it may pull out out this recession we in.
