'91 Legend - Work in Progress - As Requested....

I was requested for pictures in another thread so here they are.

I had the hood slightly popped and spaced it so I will add more pictures later when I take pictures of the seatcovers I just put on.

That's gross. Nice project car? Empty out that ashtray, nastyyy.

I hope you didn't pay more than $250-300. For that it might be a deal because it runs.

Excellent Engine and transmission = Cost in excess of $1200 "NOT INSTALLED"

Excellent suspension and steering = Cost don't know becuase I didn't have to price the repairs.

The value of a car is not based on the slight damage to the front or the two missing back covers which I dealt with by seat covers. It is valued by the way it runs, handles, and overall performs.

A little cosmetics don't bother me and I will get them fixed.

And it was worth the $1900.00 I paid for it.

EDIT: And FYI I smoke and I smoke in my car. I clean the ashtray every day or two.

Usually when people pay for something and later find out they overpaid by a $1000 or more they get defensive.

EDIT: Wow!! I just did a search, this guy is a trip. Really brain dead too. I say $350-500 for that beater. Gsdreams, you'd have to put 4 or 5 grand into the car to be able to resell it for $2000. But hey, you're so sure of yourself, you won't care anyway.

Huh? How do you figure? Where do you get your numbers? I'm sorry but I've seen some stupid people, you must top them all. They average 5k to 6k with a good body. It has a clean Autocheck and carfax also.

The total for the hood and bumper going Factory OEM New is only about 900.00 due to a friend that works at the Dealer here (getting the hood and bumper for $600 total and $300 to $350 for the match paint job on them).

Seats I'm currently looking for used and I plan to pull out the interior to do a deep clean on the carpets.

The engine runs "PERFECT" and is not throwing a single code. The transmission shifts perfect and checks out 100%.

The steering wheel and dash are the only two things I haven't decided what to do with yet.

I've been looking for a '91 to '95 Legend for over 4 months for $2,000 and within 300 miles of Boise Idaho.

In this area they don't sell for less than $5,000 on a good day. You should have seen the junk I was looking at that they were asking $4,000 for.

If you haven't bothered to check the blue book via either NADA or KBB on a '91 Acura Legend LS w/ Premium Wheels (factory Premium Wheels) feel free. NADA books low at $2,500 and KBB at $3,500 with High ranging from $6,000.

NADA:
$2,550 $3,675 $4,600

KBB:
Excellent
$5,045

Good
$4,530

Fair
$3,920

Now, if you feel KBB and NADA can niether probably base an actual car sale price, feel free to give me valid reason to believe so.

At least in my opinion the mechanical condition of the car was much more important than cosmetics. I can easily and relatively inexpensively fix most cosmetic problems, I can't do that with mechanical as most of them are expensive.

I'm sorry that no one gives a sh#@ about the engine, transmission, cv joints, half shaft, steering system, brakes, and more.

I'm sorry everyone would go out and buy a car that had trash mechanical condition with no service records but a very pretty body and fix it and spend all that money.

That is your choice. Replacing a hood/bumper is easy and not very expensive. Seats aren't an issue either.

You see what you want to and I see what I want. I care about a good running, very dependable car that overall looks good, which is what I obtained. The hood/bumper will be repaired then it will look very nice.

I personally have no complaints. I wasn't willing to travel over 300 miles so this worked out.

I didn't become defensive I stated the facts that for the area I am in you were wrong. I didn't want to, nor could I realistically, travel over 300 miles.
