My New House (with G2 sedan + coupe)

A different kind of key handoff Yesterday 3/1/09:

Finally have a place to call home! I got a new job a few months ago and decided it’s time to look around at homes. It’s a great time to buy!!

Long story short, I paid $115k LESS than the house was initially listed for. The sellers paid my closing costs, they left all the appliances, and my loan officer waived all administrative and doc fees. I got a killer deal and a really good interest rate.

This home is right near one of the major freeways in Scottsdale. It’s 2 bed + a big third room that could be formal dining or an office, 2 bathrooms, 2 car garage, and a screened in patio. It was built in 1979 but has since been upgraded with fresh paint, new appliances, granite countertops, granite & travertine in the 2nd bath, Italian porcelain flooring in kitchen and baths, hardwood flooring everywhere else. There is no carpet in the house, which I love. New lighting in living area and master bath, new garage door and opener, new dishwasher, security system, mature landscaping with plenty of shade.

Best of all, this makes my commute about 10 miles to work – took me 15 minutes in the morning, 20 coming home tonight.

Big plans for the place. My dad and brother are coming into town this weekend to stay with me, and I’m going to put them to work: new, modern track lighting in the kitchen to replace the fluorescents with plastic covers, new drawer pulls for all cabinets, tearing out the old shelving in the garage, repainting it, and installing new cabinets. Also some general clean-up and painting. It’s gonna get a whole Tyson makeover eventually .

The first time I saw the house. My mom and dad and I drove over to meet my agent. In the GS, of course, for people hauling purposes!

View down the street.

Meeting up with my agent to give her my escrow check!

Signing my life away!

The cars loaded to the brim on moving day!

Low ridin

Community entrance sign

Dining area - with previous owner's furniture

From the kitchen to the living room

Guest bedroom

Living Room

Master Bedroom - still need to sort through my junk... And get a bigger bed!

Guest Bath

There is a little atrium area with a fountain.

Backyard with low (i.e. NO) maintenance yard

Hot tub to come!!

Records!!!!! And yes, I am Tyson-izing them! LMAO.

Finally... Photoshoot with the two cars just a few minutes ago

Realtor still needs to come get their sign.

Tucked away!

Which picture for over the fireplace?

or B:

Everyone come visit! BBQ at my place for NALM 2010??

Congrats on your new place! I wish we could get away with no grass over here. A hot-tub and that will be the perfect pad!

damn that's a nice house. I vote for picture A over the fireplace. My favorite part is the palm tree in the front yard.

wow congrats. been a long time coming, i remember you wanting to sell the previous 6spd sedan for the purpose of home ownership. This is a nice addition to the collection :-P Did you pick it to match the color of your cars?
