New Custom Grill (Unique?) so 56k no go

First time posting pics sorry to 56K guys im pretty sure there huge.

I looked at a lot of pictures of aftermarket grills on here and decided I wanted to try an idea I had that I thought would look better than the usual a/m grills, or at the very least, more unique...IMO. The idea was to make the mesh flush with the opening in the front of the hood. And to have a unique grill that no-one(at least to my knowledge has). So here it is... Befor and after pictures. I think it turned out better than I thought. It took me about two and a half hours to get everything done with it.

Tell me what you think.

Should I fill in the middle parts of the "A" emblem with mesh as well?

I'd say it's unique. Never seen anyone cover the whole grill in mesh. Looks pretty good. Nice work man.

Definitely unique as far as I know.
It's not really my style, but congrats for trying something different.

I know I already posted pics but.....
Heres my "custom" grille, I used an air dremel and cut out the factory bars. Then I made new tabs to mount the mesh. Personally I like how the mesh in mine is sunk back into the grille.

Of course I painted the mesh and trim black for a fresh look! haha

Sorry If I seemed to Hi-jack your thread....

It's unique, but I think I'd like it better behind the trim.

Hmm definately interesting I would like to see a black version this could defuse it a little is seems to stand out and say look at me look at me, but great job on the work and getting a clean look

I second painting it black. I don't like it how it is. Body colored would look sweet.. make it look like the A is floating.

First picture looked the best by a wide margin.

Stock grilles FTW.

But, as others have said, props for the ingenuity; it's your own style. BTW, welcome to the forums! Beautiful car.

ur legends got braces!

doesnt flow with the styling at all, but at least youre trying, eh?

DrWho 07-27-06 08:38 AM

I'll have to step out there and say I like it, I do think it could use a trim piece around the outside but forget it, its different forget what every body else is doing do your own thing. IMO if you do black it might look worse with no definition.

black

I think i might make a nother style out of it, (still keep it covering the whole grill, but yesterday is the first day i put it on, and i was just trying it out. I wouldnt let peoples opinions change it if i liked it, but i was thinking painting it black as soon as a put it on. For one i have black car, one black leather, with tinted windows.. the greyish silver mesh doesnt match. so what i think i will do is probly keep the one i have use it for a template to make another one that i will paint black and on this black one i will try it without the "A" emblem either, takes some pics and show u guys befor after of, stock, reg mesg, and then painted mesh w/o A, and painted with A. here are a few different ones of it with mesh...
