17x7 +37 offset will it fit or rub??

So I just got Work AMP wheels for my car and they're 17x7 with +37 offset. I'm still a little confused about the offset number, the higher the number the more it pokes? I'm planning to have a drop with about a 1 finger gap between the fender and wheel, would I have any rubbing problems with these wheels?!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on how you drop it and what tire size you have will determine the rub. But if done right no rub should happen.

I run 17x7 et38 with 215/45 tires. 2" drop. No rubbing issues. You'll be fine.

That makes me feel better! I've been hearing that I'll poke definitely, but its nice to hear from someone who actually has almost the same exact wheel size as me.

Thanks for the advice! I'm planning to drop it enough to give maybe a finger gap between the fender and wheel and possibly 215/40/R17 tires to go with it. Would that work? It is a sedan btw, if that makes any difference.

what im asking is are you gonna cut the springs? or do it the right way with lowering springs and struts, coilovers, or air set up?
