For a STANDARD legend, meaning no drop and no fender mods, you would need at least +67 offset for it to not stick out at all. Once you start throwing in other modifications you can decrease the offset requirement. Right now, I have a set of 18x8.5 +48 offset rims that are flush with the front fender on my coupe but my car is lowered and runs neg. camber.

In order to have the wheels not stick out any further than your 17x8's the offset would have to be increased by 3/4" (half of the difference in the wheel widths). 3/4" ~= 19mm, so the the offset would have to be +59. At +51 the 9.5" rim will stick out 8mm more, just under 1/3", than your 17x8's.

I have no idea how much room there is in the wheel well either, as you increase the offset you're moving the wheel further in too.

Edit: In comparison to Willie's wheels @ 8.5" wide and +34 offset, a 9.5" with +46 or +47 offset would stick out the same amount. 9.5" wide with +51 should sit about 1/6" further in.

Thanks for all the help guys... but the shop that is selling the wheels won't let me test mount them. And at $1300 I can't afford to take the chance of the wheels rubbing the fender or the inside wheel well.

Your rims are 8.5? Did you have to roll your fenders? Cuz im tryna put some 17 in M5 BBS's on my joint. I'm tryna find out about the major problems i might run into. I think you gave me some tips about the spacers, but the spacers I got are like an 1.25" thick. So im almost sure im gunna run into mad problems.

Yea that's way to thick you will need to find som smaller adapter plates cause that gonna make your rims stick out way more so your offset will change as well. Rolling the fender lips will have to be done or even a fender pull will be needed.

You think it would be possible to change out the whole hub to an 05 RL hub? Would the legend axle fit into the 05 RL hub?
