19 x 8.5 on 04 RL?

Sup Forum, I'm noob to this so be easy and work with me, Aight? I will soon have in my possession a 04 RL. I've been thinkin' about what I'm going to do to hook it off right. An RL is a sexy MF so all that "Tokyo driftin", Fast and Furious is not in da plan. However, I am in search of an upgrade to the sports characteristics of the car. I pretty much have it all together with what I wanna do with the car but I need to know will 19 x 8.5, 245/35/19 fit with about an 1.5" drop without rub? I'm looking for that same stance that "91LegendCoupe has or had on his RL. By the way, ur joint is sittin right, for real!! His wheel fitment is exactly what I'm looking for with that drop. It's perfect!!!

I really don't know mucha bout RL wheels fitment, but 8.5 seems a little wide to me. Anyways, check out the meet section, we're having a meet in Atlanta soon and it would be great if you came out.

hello ack,

thanks for the compliments. I kinda miss the RL but am surely enjoying my q45.

as for the wheels, it really all depends on how you want to do it ? do u want to go conservative and play it safe? or do u want to push the limits and make your car-wheel fitment amazing ? have you been on www.vipstylecars.com ?

for conservative sizings, u can do ~19 x 8 via 40 with 235 35 19 tires.

here is a test fit of my RL with 19 x 9.5 and 38 offset

Yo, the "sit" is crazy, for real, wit the 19 x 8's, 40 offset. The rim that I'm looking at (zenetti heirs), I've never seen in an 8". The lowest I've seen is 8.5". I see also iin the photo wit the 19 x 8's that you have a drop of about 2". The stance that you achieved is the identical stance I'm looking for. I read in a thread of yours about how you swapped out the OEM springs for the "Teins". I was told that coilovers period are very noisy, so I also am looking into the B & G's/Koni's setup. Just tryin to put it all together so once I get the whip, I can just paint the picture, feel me? How low is your drop?

I ran 19 x 8.5 40 offset with 235-35-19 tires and stock height, no rub, no modifications required.

get the tein SS coilover set so u get full control of height, it's probably about the same price as BG-koni set up.

my drop was almost 3 inches, I kept goin lower and lower.

I did have a set of tein basic coilovers for sale but they are sold now and I actually got more than what I wanted.

oh and I don't understand, don't u guys want a nice sized staggered fit with a good sized lip ?

you guys have a luxury vehicle that looks great VIP style yet many of you opt to ignore it. I don't get it.

91, you mean like 7.5" up front, 8.5" in the back? I want the staggered look and the lip but I don't want the wheel or tires to stick out past the wheel well. I think that looks so unofficial on luxury cars. Maybe a couple of mm's but not to the extreme. I feel you though, IMO, the ka9's is sexy as hell. They just gotta be dressed right, you know. What sizes do you suggest to stagger and obtain a lip? Again, that's actually the look I want wit' like a 1.5" - 2" drop. Sexy, not over done or the "Fast and Furious" look. SEXY!! Like when I pull up to the club or taking my wife to dinner and valet park, it gets mistaken for an "S" class.
Suggestions 91Legend and anyone else that feels like we do!!!

By the way 91, was your Teins noisy, like over bumps or when you drive real slow? I was told by several people that coilovers are noisy!!

Did the wheel and tire stick out pass the fender and was the car dropped?
