:wtf:Ok so the newbie has to be an idiot. I am stuffing a set of 22's wrapped with 30's on my 92 legend. now as it sits they of course bind with 2 inch rubber spring spacers they clear but munch fander with every tubby tubby that sits in it. I have seen with some of the "off-roaders" a strut spacer. as a test I cut a 2x6 piece of wood and fit it in as a "spacer" it worked!! Now here is the question Does any one know if there are strut spacers that will fit my car or do I have to make them? I would appreciate any info on this.
:wtf:
Can anyone tell me how to go about putting 22's on a 1993 legend? I'm trying to help my man put them on his and I really have no idea what I need to do to start. is there much I will have to change? any help would be greatly appreciated.....
you are probably going to have about the same issues that I just went through. Make a set or 3 inch spacers/extenders for on the struts. they bolt between the strut and strut tower (body). it will give you the all the room you need to drive and look good without being too high. also watch the width of the tire and heigth if the tire if you can go with 30 series tire and no more than 8 inch width. But the biggest thing to watch is the rims offset. too much and the hit the body in the turns too little and they hit the suspension and steering components and the strut. I gotta start over the insurance totalled out mine so I picked up another that needs LOTS of loving.
No pics for a bit. but its another 92 4dr v-6 (missing) auto (came with a 5-speed) its hand painted black and gold 2 tone has grey cloth interior which has been redone from leather. Has no glass but for $200 who can complain I have 90% of what I need just gotta get the brushed on house paint off before anyone sees it.
There is no way to put it without being racist or offending so I will leave it alone. I am sure that Jose had the best "best" (rotflmao) of intentions. there seems to ONLY be about TEN coats.
yeah me too I hope by next year to have it finished. I am going all out on this one I have enough parts to do it except for the 22's gotta get new ones. Now the big Q is brown leather or black velvet?
Not bad i have 20's on my 91 sedan and my 92 coupe and i wouldnt go any bigger just my 2 cents. With that said a club member in our club has 22's on his 92 sedan he use spacers and he dont have a problem turning but you can get a or make a spacer that fits ontop of the springs that would go between the spring at tower ive seen this done on some 4x4 trucks b4. als0 if you can find a taller strut and spring you wouldnt lose your ride.
Yeah I dont like the rubber spacers and taller struts were on it but still needed more. I made spacers to go between the srtut and tower so I didnt lose the ride and didnt have to pull springs. doing the same with the new car.
No pics yet I had to send it in to be media blasted the latex paint was too much for my shop blaster. once that is done then i can start shootin pics and show you the progress. I almost got the new engine together. The new supercharger belt should be in this week. The new spacers will be done tonight. The new dash will be in from japan by next weekend I got the pedals and steering column in last week. Next month I start on the tranny!!!.
i was wondering as well if i can put 22" on the legend i think it would look nice but would it fit because in miami big rims is common for most rides
please tell me ?
Yes you can. it is tricky but if you look at my pictures in my previous posts I had a white legend with 22's and it got wrecked now I am doing a super build on my new legend and I have the dueces on it. I am not posting pics of the new one till it is done as there is alot of surprises that i dont want to give away till it goes to the shows.
I used the lathe and turned a set of spacers that went between the body and the struts to lift mine. Had to gat an alignment but kept factory parts and ride
well thats what makes us all diff i dont get the big thing with racing your legends but i dont knock those who do our cars are lux cars not race cars. thats just me.
