Hello guys, great to be part of the forum and glad to own my First Acura !! Ok i know everyone is cringing already from the title on cutting springs, so let me explain myself here, i am an above average mechanic and have always done all my own wrenching, have had many projects over the years and have done strut swaps and even a couple air bag systems recently, here is my question, has anyone here cut a coil or so off they're springs for an inch or so drop ?? The reason i am willing to do this in the first place is because my car needs the struts replaced soon already, and while i am waiting to purchase new ones with lowering springs, i want my car to look better with a little drop. So if anyone out there has done this, give me the info. Thanks
Oh I will be buying coils when replacing my front struts, this is only temporary until then, I am gathering parts now to completely go through the front end, I am just asking if anyone has done it and if it is even possible on these cars, some cars have tapered springs and can't even be cut.Was wondering if it can be done on these
If you want a proper drop get some Koni red struts and eibach lowering springs. I have this set up on my gs 6 speed and am blown away by the ride and handling. I figured I was gonna have to raise it back up when I was looking at it. But after the drive I was sold.
