I bought a parts car last spring and completely stripped the interior and put everything in plastic bags, as i always do. When i went to retrieve the seat belts for my interior swap, some of them were actually moldy! Sick, right? Especially after being stored for only 6 months. So i just did basically the same method except i just did it in the wash sink and used an old toothbrush to scrub everything including the buttons where gunk likes to stay in the "PUSH" letters. Then rinsed them out really well with hot water and let them dry before re-installation. I think it worked really well and i will be doing this on all my resto's from now on. Also if you have any frayed edges, you can just go over it steady with a lighter and burn the fray. Just don't stop in one place very long as it will melt the belt.

Simple Green

Hey 93gold_legend, I know of CVS and Costco that sell this product. If you can't find it there check their direct website at Simple Green® Official Website

There's a number of good products out now just like simple green. Non-toxic, biodegradeable stuff that actually works well. Super clean, purple power, extreme green.

It's nice that they're clean now, but *anything* but soap and water can make the seatbelts lose up to 50% of their strength in just one cleaning. Please use caution when doing this, clean seat bets are not worth lives.

It's great and mild considering the countless uses. I use it to wash my hands after they get greasy. I use it on wheels. Whatever
