I have an addiction for detailing supplies and learning how to use them. I did find out the hard way while doing blackbirds hood, cold panels dont buff well. It just causes the polish to gum up and makes the rotary draw more amps and pop the fuse on my extension cord This is the only time I have found that detailing in the sun actually works

Looks great. That is one advantage of a black car, the reflections are so nice when the car is clean.

Wax isn't enough. You need to do a full clean: a proper wash, a claying session to remove otherwise invisible impurities still in the paint, a cut (or several cuts) of polish to flatten out/reduce imperfections, then a good proper waxing to seal your hard work in place.

Lookin' good doesn't come easy
