The JDM motors bolt in but you have to strip yours down and swap over pretty much all the intake and emissions parts. JDM motors have no egr, different wiring, sensors, etc..
Labour will be 15-20...

Namro, it is as easy as that. Only problem is the hoses do get brittle with time And may split. I do it your way but have the hoses ready in case they pop open. :).

Maybe somebody can paste the section from the fsm. Iirc it states if the block has any warpage or cylinder damage, it must be replaced.

Make sure the thermostat housing is not leaking where it mates with the water pump. There is a small round gasket that can leak onto the top of the block and then out the back by the firewall.

If you want to just put silicone on the outside of the oil pump to stop the leak, it won't work. The oil will still seap out.

I think the oil cooler was not replaced, it does not fail. Your tech likely replaced the two oil cooler hoses and seal which do indeed fail over time. A $100 tab is resonable.
