ok so i got home and noticed my car was dripping coolant from behind the engine.Upon inspection i noticed that it was coming from the y pipe and cat onverter. It was dry on top.dont see coolant dripping or runing off motor.or could it be a cracked head?

Possibly...or it could be one of your cooling hoses that runs along the back of the engine is leaking and it lands on the exhaust pipe making it look like its coming from there...check it out bc those hoses do eventually fail like any other hose...

Yup, what Gabe said, double check them hoses.

ok local import shop confirmed BHG.Autozone has a gasket kit for $292.99 ne one know where i can get one cheaper?(im on a tight budget)

Have you tried ebay?!? I see them gasket (set) for G1's every now and then

What test(s) did they use? I dont doubt what your saying, I just want to know...

EDIT: Regarding the gasket set, according the the experts (read: any G2 owner :mhihi:) Felpro and Honda seem to make the only reliable head gaskets for the C series...

Yup, its best to remove the motor mayne. Trying to remove the rear head is gonna be a bitch. Damn, sorry you got a BHG. But I rather go with OEM HG no matter what, but if your on a tight budget, Felpro should be the closest one.

Some say it is recommended, but not sure about the G1 heads.

that sucks ass how hard is it to do this process? And do i need to get the heads resurfaced?
Yes I say you do it cuz aluminum heads always "twist" a bit when they are removed I guess is normal, one time had to do mine twice trying to avoid the machine shop work.

Before embarking on such a journey, get a second opinion.
Unless your car severely overheated, BHG is very unlikely on a G1.
+1 I still don't think we've seen a confirmed BHG on a G1... Unless you've had prolonged repeated overheating, I would be very suspicious of a BHG diagnosis. If the head was cracked and leaking that badly, you'd have serious performance issues, milky oil, and a lot of white smoke.

Most likely it is as Gabe suggested... one of the small coolant hoses on the throttle body, the oil cooler lines, or a heater line. All those could drip coolant onto the rear of the engine and make it appear that it was coming from the head.

+1 on the second opinion. idk much about the G1's but from what I've seen bhg is uncommon.

Rick, did you give Christopher's a call today? Even if you decide to do the work yourself at least let him look at it and get that second opinion. He's the only person that's worked on my cars other than myself and I've had nothing but exceptional service there.
