My name is Ken. I am the owner of a red 1992 Acura Legend. I've been looking over this forum for a short while now and decided to join for the invaluable help of things like the stickied check list for legend matinence from month to month. As my profile states, I'm a musician, computer nerd and have an a love for my legend. Her name is December. She came into my ownership when my parents decided to replace the head gasket a couple years back instead of helping me fund a junker car. Good decision I must say. That repair aside, theres really been no trouble. She has her old car quirks, some of which I hope to iron out with your help, but she never lets me down. But enough with my introductions, this is a picture thread after all.

This is December:

Shes not in too bad shape for being 13 1/2 years old. Little rust behind the back wheel, some chipped paint...

...maybe a good dent too... thank you pathmark shopping cart (not in my ownership)

Nothing special under the hood, except of course the ice pic holding the hood up... the hydrolic prop things gave out a year ago about. Don't really know how to fix it... maybe you can help:yes:

I just made the 146000 mile roll over. When 150 comes around theres gonna be a car party with me and my friends though. I'm looking forward to it...

Seats are a little beat up. Replacing the leather is in the back of my head of things to do.

Now taking a closer look in my car, this is where she becomes unique. What you see is a decent head unit and the Clarion N.I.C.E. I wish I could say I did that work myself, but I got a good deal through one of my brothers sweet connections.

And my final unique touch to the car is a Hornet security/remote starter.

I look forward to bettering myself towards keeping and perhaps improving my car through your wisedom. Thanks for hosting such a specific and awesome forum.

Nice looking car, i love that color on a sedan :D, but word of advice, never put the brand of your security system on the windows of your car, reason being is its just inviting the people who know how to deactivate it into your car. But otherwise, looks good. For your headunit, was it like a clarion dvd player/ headunit, and then replacement screen used as a main screen? It looks pretty good, i know hass on here did the exact same thing.

niice color combo.

its weird b.c usually the drivers seat is the one with the messed up leather...but not in your case.

what kind of security system is that btw? hornet ______

Originally it was just the pioneer head unit by itself, later I got a portable GPS. After I realized how impractical the suction cup for the windshield was in varying temperatures, I had it installed right in the car. Its actually entirely separate from the head unit. If you look closely, the head unit is actually on 88.3mhz, the clarion is transmitting on the radio, its not even hard wired.

You people comment fast. I like that. Slowly, I have been fixing it up since I got it. It took me months before I ACTUALLY got all of the fallout from my mother's ownership of the car. After that I replaced the stereo since one speaker was blown and two others were crackling. The rear bumper has been repainted after my brother had a little run in with it, which was quite a disappointment. The original paint is SO MUCH higher quality than the repaint quality. I'd really like to get the inside to be as perfect as possible and maybe fine a way to pop out a few dents with your guys help, like that passenger door dent. I've never even really considered modding the engine, I've always thought it kind of foolish to tinker with such an old engine, but that thinking was before I found this site, so we'll see what happens.

Partly thanks to you guys, I'm getting really interested in the keep of my car. Today I went to a buddies house and he helpped me clean up my bad wax job and he helpped me clean my engine. I'll have a picture soon and I'll put it side by side with the one above. He also recommended an e-tailer to buy the hood struts from. Though I'm not mechanically inclined really, the hood struts should be within even my abilities. As for this meet, I'm gonna read up on it. I think it'd be an interesting trip. I need to read up on what its all about though.
