When evacuating the A/C system, which side(Suction/low or discharge/high)should vacuum be applied to?

Suction. That's what I've used.

When pulling vacuum you should open up both the low and high service ports on your manifold gauge.

when you pull a vacuum u should pull it on both sides. for about 30 mins. Only install freon on the low side. u will mess up your compressor if you put it though the high side
