We now know the type 2 throttle body is superior, and the injectors are all the same and that type 2 FPR is best. But is there a difference in type 1 or 2 or RL fuel rails? Is one better then the other?

Lets clarify this the Type I and Type II fuel rails are the same. The FPR's are different. One is not necessarily better than the other, they are mearly different in terms of the amount of fuel they flow which is based upon the cams and air/fuel ratio maps. so they should be used in unison TII cams and ECU A/F maps use a TII FPR; TI cams, ECU and A/F map use a TI FPR. now the RL is a different breed all together and seems to work best wih the TI setup unless you have done some other things in the cam department. as fo rthe RL fuel rails I find them far more pleasant to the eyes as far as flowing more fuel I doubt it probably about the same. and any of the above have said to be adequate for more Hp than many of us will ever see.

i was gonna say, you think the TB is superior? i think they are same no? only difference's i found was the upper water passage and the TPS sensor are facing a difference direction.

i ran a type1 TB on my coupe since the rebuild b/c we broke 2 typeII TPS sensors accidentally (wasn't my fault either).

For reference, my mechanic also figured that keeping the Type I fuel rails/FPR when I did my 3.5RL swap was also the only way to still let it pass smog. In this same logic, I 'assume' that one would have to keep the Type II fuel rails/FPR when doing the same swap if, in fact, the car was a Type II to begin with.

Messing with the combinations just seems to be begging for check engine lights...?

kinda curious about the FPR's who can look up part numbers for them, T1, T2 and 3.5 (97-04 RL), I wonder if there is two or three different numbers?

The air porting on the TII TB is better than that of the TI allowing more air into the intake manifold it has one more inlet port than the TI.

That's good to know. :)

Thanks for clarifying telion, I knew there was a reason but I had forgot. I guess if theres no real difference in fuel rails besides looks I'm going to pick the pretty ones to be chromed :)

FYI you dudes doin your 3.5 swaps are changing your oxygen sensors while you have the motor out, right? ESPECIALLY the 2 that go into the headers...Dont be like me, hard head takes alot of fuckin labor to get them bitches out in that tight spot they're in!

91LS 3.5 you mean changing them to legend ones or just getting new RL style ones? I went with legend ones hope I didn't get the wrong ones :(

Where else are there o2 sensors besides the manifolds?

No go with the Legend ones, I'm just saying swapping in general as "preventative maintenance"...I didnt and guess what code my ECU is throwing? You got it BOTH front o2's are bad....Just tryna help fellow swappers out change thos o2's while you have the motor out!

I am lost are you guys thinking that the O2 sensors between 3.2 and 3.5 are different? Because they are the same.
