I'm planning on taking my car here when my car hits 120K miles for a rebuild.

i can make anyone anything they need if they give me the core piece and specs like chris said. In about a year i will have a whole performance package i will sell including pistons, rods, cams, HG, valves and springs. there will be a different kit for people wanting to go F/I or N/A of course. I dono how much the will run now but it should put some good gains. Im working in the panoz race shop right now so if anyone needs anything let me know. Im making headers right now

Recently, in a news article about a local European exotic engine/vehicle rebuilder of over 20 yrs experience, the owner stated that Asian mfgrs typically design the engine/internals to match a given hp output. According to him, the engines are not overengineered by much. It does make sense when given that in aspects of vehicle design and component use Asian mfgrs typically only install what is required; no more and no less. How biased was the statement? You decide. Just thought I would mention.

I disagree. Although the Japanese are under a decaying gentleman's agreement not to make a car with more than 280PS, it is very clear that their engines are designed to make much much more than that. If you want a good example; consider the Nissan SR20DE. It only produced 140hp in base form, but it's stock internals are brutishly overbuilt... good up to +450hp (proven so far, the numbers are still climbing).

Although that engine-builder's statements may be true of SOME Japanese cars (off the top of my head, the Mazda rotaries, the Honda F20C, etc.) it cannot apply to ALL Japanese engines, just as that statement cannot apply to ALL european or american engines.

i thought i remembered reading something about some guy with a 150 wet shot on a basically stock legend for over a year, and didnt do anything but blow the p.o.s. head gasket and his internals were fine. If that's true, it should be a good indication of how much extra hp our engines can handle.
