This thread is long overdue. I am writing to impart hope in automatic Legend owners, and to counterbalance the anti-automatic threads floating around. There are two kinds of automatic-nay-sayers: those who think every automatic should be swapped to a manual, and those who think that performance-oriented Legend owners are posers for buying an automatic.
Reasons why we should not swap to a manual:
1. far too long of a throw
2. weak-feeling shift (wouldn't want to snap it too quickly)
3. the dual-mass clutch is the least sporty design I've ever felt
4. our pedals are _NOT_ designed for heel-toe
5. the manual generally feels like it was designed for my grandpa to drive
6. is it even possible to stall a Legend manual?
7. it feels completely disconnected from the car, and the road
Reasons why the Legend's automatic rules:
1. it's fast
2. sporty gear engagement
3. it's fairly advanced in terms of automatic transmissions (for its time)
4. NOS
5. ease of operation
6. the kick-down plate
7. better gear ratios on the Type II
etc...
Don't waste your energy flaming me for my opinions. This thread is for automatic owners, not manual-Legend-owners who enjoy shifting grandpa's transmission ;P
k.
P.S.
No hard feelings with this thread, I'm just providing a dissenting opinion from the norm.
