check this out telion. i saw it and thought of your setup.:hitit:
Black reservoir with a yellow lid where our fuse box is: is that his coolant reservoir?

It strikes me as a bad idea to put such a large heat source as a turbo right next to the line carrying that little bit of extra coolant into the radiator when the thermostat opens. Won't you be making the cooling system work just that much harder?

I suppose it's an inevitability really: turbos are going to bring heat into the system one way or another right? Hopefully the Legend's design is up to the task.

[Note: I'm guessing here... it's just what first occurred to me when I was watching that video and I'm curious if it's of concern in your design Telion]

Well a few things if you are referring to the side coming from the turbo going into the TB than nope not doing that but it looks cool and I don't think it would impact the cooling ability of the cooling system ( which I also aided with an upgraded all aluminum C&R racing radiator with a SPAL high speed fan). Also though it looks cool, wonder what type of intercooler(s) he is using. and I would not merge at the TB like he did. Ok just re-read the email and see the overflow reservoir and I don't see that as an issue I would probably shield it from the headers, but as long as it doesn't melt it should be fine. mine is actually located in the front driverside wheel well.

Do you realize how much bumper I had to cut to fit those pipes in there , not to mention the intercooler, which is bigger than the one pictured. We will definitely be in the market for an aftermarket bumper and I really need a lip spoiler because I cant fit the factory one without it ending up looking like a cut up plastic flap.

I dread actually cutting my 94+ bumper I have. I might end up taking that one to the body shop for a professional fitting.

Hmm possibly a benefit to having a coupe (and a 91' bumper)? Yeah I agree though with the spoiler lip or atleast the area behind it. I do have the Sarona front bumper but I am shying further and further away from putting it on this car. I will try to get a pic up of how I mounted the reservoir though it may need to be re-fabbed out of aluminum depending on the heat.

Ok, I mentioned that I would put up a pic of the location of the reservoir so here it is with a few other semi related pics.

The collectors had some issue in the ordering process, but I re-ordered them and they should
be here tomorrow (was suppose to be here today) but the water temp gauge arrived :)

can you send that to me via paypal :), just kidding and I know what your sayin and would never put this on a non turbo'd Legend.

Battery's on the wrong side Telion: your best weight distribution would come from having it on the opposite side of the trunk ;)

Hmm, good point I do have something over there already though. But I will look at rearranging things a little.

And once I here how the car sounds with the muffler I will revisit replacing it but I seriously doubt it will sound like a fart can on a V6 TT setup.

I don't understand. You seem like you have worked everything out. Why do you not post any pictures? Thats a serious question, I don't understand the need/reason for secrecy? I should mention that for me, the fun is in the building. Once i finish something i usually just end up parking it after a couple weeks and getting a new project. You probably have different motivations, and im curious as to what they are is all. Im not trying to take any shots at you here, I've seen all the information on your other mods, and everyone knows you are for real (How many other people could post saying they had done this or that, without a ton of people trying to call bullshit?), so whats with the secrecy? Why not just straight up tell Telion how you worked the headers and give a pic? Doesn't seem like it would compromise anything that much. Again, just curious not trying to start anything.

Not sure, we use custom internals.

Chris
That setup and those pictures are insane. Since you are using a C32 instead of C35 do you have to do anything about the headgaskets? The C32 creates soo much heat around the cylinders without any turbos, and those graphite gaskets seem to go pretty quick when they hit a certain temp. I would have thought that just the added combustion heat would be enough to ravage them. Am I wrong on this or do you just have to replace them constantly or what?
