First I apologize for the serious teaser and putting up pics of a project without results and dyno's because there are none. And who knows how long it could be before I go any further it could be a year or more! I just love hearing the ideas suggestions, feedback and knowlege you all have to offer. Isn't that a bulk of what we are here for? :) Well as many of you know I am currently underway with the Supercharger setup. It has been a very slow process but is still underway and the manifold for it is now being welded from what I understand.

I could not get over how much I loved Hotlava's tt setup and it overcame me. So I figured at some point in the future I also wanted to do a tt setup and began slowly buying the additional pieces it would take to do so (being that many are the same, such as injectors, fuel pump monitoring gauges and what not). Then last week my car decide to get some garage time (it broke down later found to be a broken axle, Ebay? I think it was tsk tsk). But none the less it was a perfect excuse to play while she was down so I started to look at how I would eventually want my tt to be setup. What better way than to play. It helps kill concepts that look good in your head given the (not so) workable space; a few of my ideas have since died. But long story short this is where I am at so far. Now that my wife knows that it is just a broken axle I only have shipping time to continue playing before having to put her back together again.

A couple quick notes

-No this will not be done/completed for a very very long time.-This is very new to me so I would be the last to ask for suggestions though I love to share ideas.
-Yes the supercharger project is still underway and taking precedence over this.

-No I did not wake up one morning and say I am going to do a Legend Twin turbo setup during breakfast (sorry Hybird, that just kills me lol)
-No I am not going to be using PVC intercooler piping it is just cheaper to hack away at till I figure how I am going to do it when the time comes.
-I have also read up on some articles of Twin vs. Single and each seem to have there advantages from knowlegable members of their respective forums.
-cheap clamps will be replaced with t-clamps.

Ok the book is done here's the pics. (excuse the mess my garage is at war)
also please forgive the ugly "stand in" mesh and terrible paint, looks will come last. I don't want to tear it up after doing body work and paint.

This one concerns me, there is not much rook and there is a damn brake fluid line that may need to be relocated. wires and hoses I don't mind moving brake, AC, and power steering lines I am not so happy/experinced with.

Hopefully at some point I will be done destroying my car and be able to build it up like the one in my head lol.

-Tip- If you get a new intercooler or radiator, cover the fins with cardboard until it is fully installed so you don't damage the fins during installation :hide:

PS. The purple finish and and nice shiney engine bay will be back in time. it was too hard to maintain and not scratch to hell while getting a bug of some sort and doing stuff like ^ this. I think eventually I will powdercoat vs. paint though.

The exhaust sits a little low toward the center of the car because it is not hung yet but the muffler does not look as bad as I am sure many of you thought that it would and as for the sound well she is still in very rough form but grab a nice set of head phones :D and tell me what you think?

Still alot of work to do but to be able to actually drive it for a second and pull it out of the garage sure is relieving (sigh)

Still working on that, there are a few things that actually need to be worked out, that being one of them. I am just happy that it idles. My gauge is also off for some reason had been for a while

I didn't because the round part was large enough to cover the outer oval area (filled a little with weld) so my exhaust plates are oval and the runners are round. However my steel was too thick to bend. What you can do though is take the part where the runner connects to the oval part of the exhaust plate and stick it in a vise and slowly tighten it till it takes on an oval shape. I would practice on scrap a few times to see how the tubing reacts based on where the seem is and if it has a seem make the seem the center of where the bend will be on the vise. This is how I did my Y-pipe and it was either 14 or 16g steel.

Ok I got my first feel for Legend boost and oh boy was it addicting. Unfortunately she is still untuned so I cannot do it whenever off the jump because unless the AFR is just right (Yes the first time I watched the wideband in addition to the road :( ) and the rpm transition is smooth. but oh boy it truly is a pleasurable experience to feel the potential of my car. I will try to post a little vid tomorrow after I go through everything. I think it got to 5 psi a few times maybe a hair more but the EBC is not hooked up yet.

I couldn't agree more, I can't wait for yours. And it truly re-fires the desire to keep going! You'll be there. You have come a long way on a much more difficult build.

Thanks , right now she is not too impressive in comparison to the work but hope fully tomorrow I can get a shot of what she can do if she cooperates. I will try to give Vic or 91TypII a call for some test runs (not racing just for gauging her performance because the VSS isn't plumbed)

After thinking about it last night I know that I hit the spring rate of the 5.2lbs of boost because the did open. I am sure because one side tore the tape I was using to cover a little leak in the wastegate return pipe. So now knowing this 5 or even 7lbs is not going to be nearly enough to satisfy my new thirst. Unfortunately till the FIC is tuned (because it will bypass stock map sensor in boost) 6.5 to 7 will be all she can see.

Today I think I am going to put a check valve on my vacuum line to the AFR as a temp fix. I will keep the check valve going the correct direction so the adjustable FPR still sees vacuum but it has some airflow resistance so it should decrease the amount of vacuum in hopes that it will no longer dip into the 9's in AFR at WOT. I will also be watching this very closely with the wideband. I know I need to get it tuned but this is a good time to check functionality before pushing her. On a side note she really doesn't get to hot in teh engine bay. I was surprised by this, and think it ran hotter with the OBX headers.

A tuned 5-7lbs of boost is a night and day difference to an untuned 5-7lbs of boost. Don't jump the gun before you even have the bullets :p.

Close indeed, yet still a ways away but to feel it refuels the fire to finish. This has been a frustrating, fascinating, and fun process for me from day 1.

#1,250 ·
lol It's all good, but it was more a matter of performance than taste :)

#1,249 ·
True, I just get this feeling I am going to want to double the 7lbs. within a years time.

You will!

FIA-
The first step of overcoming your addiction IS admitting you have a problem.

More minor details

Since I could not get my dual core oil cooler to fit I cut it in half for the tranny cooler

Got the power steering back in, but still having issues cause I can't remember how it was plumbed I will figure it out though, at least it fit.

And I cut the cover down on the map sensor box so it would fit

lol me neither but it was either try it or let it sit with the other items I bought that don't fit lol. I did find my Innovate RPM converter and confirm that the AFR is still spiking at 16.00 which is waaaaay too lean under boost with the RL (or any car's) compression ratio. This is likley the cause of the knock CEL it throws. To be sure I am going to throw a SRI on it so it doesn't see boost and see if it throws a CEL.
