Legend O Power - Looks good man!! I'm trying to keep mostly everything black if I can, since I have a black car .. Haven't cleaned it in a while.. It'll be super shiny once it gets warmer out and I do a thorough engine detail!

Legendz - No, I don't have an air bypass valve in there.. Air comes straight up the tube and through the filter. I do have a filter at the bottom of the tube, but nothing to prevent water from getting up in there. I've driven it in some pretty hard rain and have had no problems at all. As long as I don't drive it in a flood, I'll be ok :)

Do you think that there is a rear strut bar for another car that might fit on the rear of our legends?

It won't fit a 93-95 yeah?

because the AC lines get in the way. I know that the 91-93 have the AC line at another place. What do you guys think?

So as speedemon said, $25+$20 ship, for $45 it wasn't a bad deal for me.

If you don't have the cash to spend on the MLS strut bar, then this is a good route. Money wasn't an issue for me, but I wanted a little project to work on :)
Cash wasn't the issue, it just pisses me off when companies advertise stuff at low prices and then you go to buy it and shipping is almost as much as the part itself.

Yeah good point - I was shocked that shipping would be so much on a part like that. I guess there's nothing we can really do about it, they set the shipping cost.

I'm gonna check out some places out here in NYC and see if they have the strut bar and compare their prices with online sites.

EBAY EBAY EBAY!!!!!!!!!
the strut bars are selling for 16.99 plus 7.95 shipping or something like that. check it out
they have the black and the blue ones. just go to ebay motors and type in "prelude strut"
trust me that's the way to go. also don't everyone bid at once!!
let's ALL get them for 16.99

cables next to strut?

hey legend o power,

just wondering what the two cables on the passenger side coming from near the strut bar and going to the air filter hose is?
props on ur mods....

Did anyone buy a prelude strut bar off of ebay? If so is it worth it? I am looking into getting one. Any input you can help me with?

It looks like the strut bar is actually touching the top of the engine, is this true? if so isn't that a bad thing, this may be just me but I'm curious.

It's hard to see from that pic, but it just barely misses the top of the engine. I still haven't been able to test out the strut bar yet (see posts about PPP), but I will definately comment when I finally can drive my car.

prelude nuespeeds

Anyone here have the prelude nuespeed brace installed on there G2 Coupe. I need to know if it touchs the hood or engine at all and how much does the bracket need to be bent and how difficult is it to bend. I personlly feel that the Nuespeed bar, although much more expensive than the ebay stuff, seems to be a whole lot stiffer. about $120+s/h.

What would you guys prefer to use, Nuespeed $120, Ebay stuff $20, MLS $$$?

I finally got my ECU back (read sticky ECU posts) and got a chance to take my car out and test out the strut bar. I really think it makes a BIG difference!! I tried to take some really hard corners and the car felt very stable, I was quite impressed! Granted, I haven't driven my car in about 5 weeks or so, but it was not like this before. So I think it's definately worth the $45 shipped or if you can get it on ebay for cheaper, then go for it!

i don't know if it's true, but i read somewhere that a guy installed the "cheap" strut bars, and he took a crazy turn and the fricking thing snapped and poked outta the hook. needless to say, the hood got messed up and the strut busted. like i said, not sure if this is an "urban" myth, but hey... careful out there dmenn. :) then again... you could opt for carbon fiber hood if that does happen. hehehe :D

ATTN andwhat03: I was thinking the same thing. if you look on page 1 of this thread, i posted a pic of the 97+ prelude strut bar installed on the lude. i'm busy now, but hopefully i'll have time to hit some motorsport shop to find out. probably in 3 weeks since finals are coming up in 2 weeks. so i guess i'll have time over spring break. let me know if you find out anything. thanks!

It will not work, its to wide... with the ones that we are useing for the legend, the main bar is adjustabe, so you can adjust it all the way short then it fits. with the Nuespeed its not. (the prelude is not wider then our cars, but strut bolts are angled differently which makes the bar longer to get to the bracket)
