Yeah, when will the prior VIP memberships be honored? All of us (staff included) can still see the ads if we're not using AdBlocker + NoScript in Firefox.

Yeah, all the VIP members can turn off the sidebar and intellitext ads, but what hasn't been explained is why there are still ads everywhere for VIP members.

Exactly, that's WORSE than what our VIP members had before for $5 less.

You should have a 10,000 PM limit if you are a supporting member. I will look into it too.

all this ads are killing me!!!! now this makes browsing the forum on my phone HORRIBLE! I'm at work for most of the day and the only way i get to visit is from my phone and now i dont even want to log on anymore because its way too annoying.

If you are a VIP/Premium member you can turn off the left sidebar here:

Scroll down to Additional Options and click "Disable".

This section also lets you turn off the AutoGuide box on the homepage (as requested) and the Intellitxt ads.

Which ads have been added? You shouldn't be seeing any. Also, you can turn off the left sidebar as explained in the FAQ. What other ads are you seeing?

Flash chat will be added instead of the AIM chat by the end of the week.

And one thing that does seem to be fixed is minimizing those news articles on the home page actually keeps them down whenever you come back (as long as you're logged in)

ok wtf is up with the ads on the side. everything is off kilter I know we have had this problem before for non VIP members but now its even weirder! I would prefer not to use my 2 monitors for just this forum. I have more work to do on the other monitor

I don't mind the ads i just mind where they are placed and the overall format of the forum

Can we put ads on the bottom or top instead of on the side please? The shorter post windows are going to make for a bit of a headache.

+1 to everything said above. Charging more for a lesser VIP membership is absurd. Three navi menus along with the Forum Jump is overkill, illogical, and a waste of space. If people had signed up yesterday for VIP it would be $10. Today it's $15 and way worse.

Why does it say PREMIUM under my name and some other members. Some still have VIP.

 

We agreed to move every VIP member over. It is taking effect now. You will have the extra features of a Premium member now as discussed in the other thread.

You keep your 10,000 limit as a VIP Member pre-upgrade. Your correct PM limit is stated on your inbox page:

But in the why did you move the smilie bar to the bottom instead of the right hand side when you select advanced post? its annoying like this. it was much easier when it was on the right. :thumbsdown:

 

Also, why are there only like 8 threads displayed on the home page? :wtf: that is annoying. i have to bump this thread already because no one can see it. can you please allow more threads to be seen on the homepage? the same as before the update...

 

I have to say this update is truely FTMFL. I can live with ads but the fact that they are on the left is a significant nusiance because of how much it cuts into the actual content of the thread. Plus, why would you up the price for a membership while reducing the number of allowed PMs by 9,500!
