My father just put a tape in his radio and it wont come out, so i just changed his stock deck out for a 92 ls coupe stock deck. He has a 93 L Sedan and now the problem is that it sounds really crappy and doesnt go loud at all , you can start hearing it past the halfway volume mark and its so low, i know the 92 ls coupe had the amp under the seat but im not sure about the sedan, im guessing the first deck had a built in amp and the coupe deck only has like 20 watts or something like that.... anyone ever had this problem and know how to fix this?

Thanks

You can't replace a LS head unit (probably a Bose) with a L model HU. I would think the wiring harness is different and the Bose speakers are 2 ohm instead of 4 ohm.

This thread would probably be better placed in the Stereo section. Welcome---

i know that's what i thought? because my brother(Frantinez) has a 92 ls with bose and i have a 92 l without bose but my father's 93 L sedan has bose , the rear tweeters and all, the wiring and plugs fit and everything its just it doesnt go loud at all?? any suggestions?

Also I know the 91-92 Bose system was only 80 watts, whereas the 1993 on up was 200 watts. If the sedan has a 200 watt amp, maybe the coupe radio is having a hard time regulating that. (This opinion is from a layman's perspective and is not meant to be technical.) :)

Thanks for the advice guys, probably just going to have this 4 channel amp i have wired up for him.. Dont have time to try and diagnose a problem which probably is going to result in putting an amp in anyway.. thanks anyways

Thanks man, i figured that but now i know for sure...cool.. So does anyone have a headunit from a 91-95 L that they would want to sell, it would be easier than me wiring up a 4 ch amp and spending all that time... Let me know
