Graeme actually imposed a sig size limit a while ago, and had a post stickied, but i dont even know what happened to it anymore...

some of these peoples signatures are just HUGE

who? The max size should around 50-75kb.

 

50-75kb? mine is only 20kb and blkonblkcpe yours is only 40kb... you can use photoshop to reduce the quality of any pic to fit 50-75kb and you can also you photoshop to resize the pics

 

i think 500x300 should be the limit. i agree, some are ridiculously large, they take up half a screen.

 

How do you re-size pics?

I use Adobe Photoshop to prepare all my images for posting. When I upload them from my digital camera, they're huge (would take forever to scroll all the way across to see the entire image). When I make a sig, I first crop the picture so that it's rectangle-shaped, like Keith's above, and then I make sure the width won't exceed any user's monitor size. In Photoshop, there's a command under the Edit menu called Image Size. I usually set mine to 3.5-4 inches wide maximum when I post on the forums. You can also set the size based on the number of pixels. Here's a smaller sig version for ya if you're interested... or of you have any other pics, you can email them to me and I'll be happy to resize them. - Tyson

 

yea dont judge a pic by how many KB's it is b/c you can still have a huge picture with bad quality.....so you have to set a pixle size limit. pretty much any program you can open a picture in is able to resize it. Photoshop, Jasc Paint Shop(came on my computer), Microsoft Office Picture Manager, maybe even pain(but not sure).

Is it just pics that are too big, or are you guys concerned about long lists of mods like under mine?

 

right click on yor image and go to prperties it will tell you what you need to know about the image.Mine is 400x300 60k to give you an idea the limit is apparantly 600x400 80k.

 

That's why I love FIREFOX. When I don't want to see a person's sig anymore or I feel it's taking too much space, I just right-click and choose ADBLOCK IMAGE and it disappears.....for good.......unless I want to see it again.

Yea, I notice on other forums, that when I ADBLOCK sigs and other advertisements, the pages load up faster.
