as the title states. I finally got a chance to look thru the 200+ pictures i took last weekend, plus a few video clips......

ps, incase you don't recall, here's the thread from a few months back when we pulled my motor out.

We started the project off Thursday nite with the heads. working a few hrs into the night getting the heads on and timing started...

Next morning (friday) we started off early, had a good breakfast hoping to tackle the whole project that day. It was a busy day and i didn't take alot of pics.

me working on getting the front of the engine together, coolant lines hooked up. Pulley's installed. we ran into a issue with the power steering pulley. still have to take care of that.

back to the project.

Mike made these awesome extended O2 sensors. they are wrapped in the same stuff ppl wrap headers with. even though they don't really touch the headers. They fit perfectly.

Saturday afternoon...

Getting ready to install the trans the first time.

saturday was a bust, we installed the trans on, then spent a few hours trying to get the clutch fork into place. with no luck, i came to the conclustion the fork must be damaged. We called it a day.

sunday morning......

saw this 6spd coupe on our way to mike's garage after breakfast, yes we left a note!

So we started the day off by pulling the trans off and seeing why the fork isn't sliding onto the bearing

wow that is bent! we used my hydraulic tool set to spread the arms out, sorry i forgot to get a pic of that :headscrat:

once again the trans is in place, fork is installed, slave cylinder is installed.

the infamous drop. it went not too bad, pretty smooth, aside from crushing a power steering line :(, who needs powersteering anyways

we did come across a major issue, I used the wiring harness from my parts car (93 auto LS) which has 1 plug on the harness that different btwn a manual and auto. I didn't get a pic, but i will. I had to make a harness using the firewall harness from my parts car and my old engine harness to go in btwn my firewall harness and new engine harness.

Sorry i don't have anymore pics of the engine installed or the car ready to go, i don't have a camera, and my sister took the one she was letting me use b/c she needed it.

However once its avaible to me, i'll get some video footage and more pics very very soon!

Baby, The Vdub Cabrio who was kind enough to give up her space in the garage for the engine building

Sleeper Cell, The Dodge Ram who was kind enough to share his garage with the import engine.

We threw in a different PCM yesterday because of the problems with Alex's PCM (Who the hell did that shitty ass soldering job on the ZIF socket?) and got it running half decent. Lets just say without an exhaust system it's deafening. No as cool as my Ram without headers spewing out fire from the exhaust ports though :D Drove it around the block and it went, but it definitely needs some tuning and breaking in.

Lookin good mang. I love how you can take dramatic pictures of a... erm... motor :D. That OBX Y-pipe is a travesty. My girl could weld better than that. There is one thing I'm slightly dissapointed about - you had the whole engine rebuilt and didnt install a new oil pump!!! Wassamattaforyou!

Were you going for a color match between those k-sports and valve covers?

Damn that is impressive and motivating AWESOME JOB you two. Now that I am rejuvinated I gotta go make my clutch fork look like yours . . .lol
 
Fantastic work and you guys are real good mechanics.
