That is correct there will be no build specific guesswork, keep in mind that the TII cam's yield the best results then the RL, then the TI (might have transposed the last two) But the grind will be as good as it can get accordingly.

 

Has anybody dynoed before and after cams? I would like to send some in, but am hesitant and would like some feedback on type I gains.

 

That is the unfortunate thing with dynoing anything people don't like putting up teh money to do it, However I am going to put up the money to dyno your car (unrelated revelation ) so we could do a before dyno if you wanna do the after dyno infact now that I think about it I will sell you my cams after all is said and done and you can do a before and after before buying them. Since I will be re-istalling my TI cams for teh FI build.

 

Are these hardwelded cams? If yes, I am in immediately. If no, can we order hardwelded with the groupbuy, and how much would they be?

I was reading kenso's thread about his web cams. Do you need standalone computer to run these properly or will a telion ecu, intake, and 2.5 piping be enough to notice gains?

 

No you don't need an EMS to show gains, the Telion chip will be fine and actually here in teh near future there will be some dyno tuned chips being released specifically for those with WEB cams.

Also to answer your question, the cam profiles would not change based on whether or not they are hard welded so that sole factor would not change the cars engine managagement needs.

For the price difference between the hard welded ones and the non hard welded, what would be the benefit to go that extra mile? Performance benefit or reliability benefit?

 

I had a long conversation with WEB today and we discussed the profiles of the cams as well as a couple other things and The TII cams and the RL cams will be getting the same grind as Dv8 Profile (we went over the numbers) the TI's don't have enough material on them so the get a grind that is slightly more agressive than the TII cams. I have all the numbers. So the best way to go is definately going to be RL or TII but the TI's will see a performance gain that is a little better than if they did a TI to TII cam swap. I would imagine that longevity would potentially be the only true advantage since the specs would be identical.

Now if I understood correctly the difference in the TI's is the duration which is 219deg and 212deg but the lift is the same this is due to not having enough material to get to that duration.

I know this sounds redundant but I wanted you to hear it from me first hand.

 

I assume $325 shipped is to anywhere in the US and that Canada would have a bit of an extra charge ($10-$20 or so).
