12/02/2008 UPDATE: Process information ***It's not too late to get in on this just PM me***
Please ship your cams directly to WEB, as this is cheaper, faster, and releives me of the responsablility of any misfortune in shipping (insurance recommended)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Payment for the Cams will be sent to my paypal address which I will provide you with
upon receiving the PM above.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to go ahead and get the ball rolling on this since there have been a few people that have asked. I assure you that this will be run at a standard synonymous to my expectations.

So here is how it will work. First let's get a list going and lets see how many seriously interested people we have. Once we get around 5 people ready to pay we will set a deadline for payments to be received. I will ask that at the time you send payment to me that you also send your cams directly to WEB.
Along with your cams please include your real name, your screen name, your address, and whether you have sent them a set of Type I, Type II or RL cams.

***Each set of cams will receive the most aggresive grind according to the type of cam i.e. Type I, Type II, or RL.***

Pricing
-I will be able to honor the price of 325.00 shipped, I spoke with WEB
hardwelds would need to have 5 hardweld orders,
-I Might be able to do them at a little discount individually, but the price would be about $999.00 + shipping.
still a significant discount from retail at $1,162.00 (GB price would be 950.00 shipped)

Yes Each person will receive a copy of their cam specs with their cams

The following specs are from Forevre Legend this is what I will state that I want done

Grind #: 543/410 Hydraulic

---------Intake Exhaust
Valve Lash: HYD HYD
Valve Lift: .377 .363
Duration: 248deg 246deg

If there is more info needed/requested please provide it in this thread so I can request it.
***Now please understand that the grinds aggressiveness is based on the amount of material on the cam to work with this is teh only variation that creates a difference in the RL and TI profiles.

That is correct there will be no build specific guesswork, keep in mind that the TII cam's yield the best results then the RL, then the TI (might have transposed the last two) But the grind will be as good as it can get accordingly.

That is the unfortunate thing with dynoing anything people don't like putting up teh money to do it, However I am going to put up the money to dyno your car (unrelated revelation :D) so we could do a before dyno if you wanna do the after dyno infact now that I think about it I will sell you my cams after all is said and done and you can do a before and after before buying them. Since I will be re-istalling my TI cams for teh FI build.

I can add the hardweld cams into the group Buy and get that price discounted as well for you, I will need to contact WEB though to figure out what my pricing will be but it will be but I assure you it will be a nicely reduced price.

updated 1st page

#14 ·
Oh come on, I have to get up the money to compete with you :D

#16 ·
You know I have a set for sell right?

#18 ·
As soon as we get to 5 we will get this thing rolling!

No you don't need an EMS to show gains, the Telion chip will be fine and actually here in teh near future there will be some dyno tuned chips being released specifically for those with WEB cams.

#23 ·
Sounds good, just let me know and I will see what I can do,

Also to answer your question, the cam profiles would not change based on whether or not they are hard welded so that sole factor would not change the cars engine managagement needs.

#24 ·
Publicity bump

#25 ·
I still need at least two more people to make this happen.

#28 ·
For the price difference between the hard welded ones and the non hard welded, what would be the benefit to go that extra mile? Performance benefit or reliability benefit?

#29 ·
I had a long conversation with WEB today and we discussed the profiles of the cams as well as a couple other things and The TII cams and the RL cams will be getting the same grind as Dv8 Profile (we went over the numbers) the TI's don't have enough material on them so the get a grind that is slightly more agressive than the TII cams. I have all the numbers. So the best way to go is definately going to be RL or TII but the TI's will see a performance gain that is a little better than if they did a TI to TII cam swap. I would imagine that longevity would potentially be the only true advantage since the specs would be identical.

What I received from WEB via email regarding the TII and RL cams

Grind #
543/410

Intake Exhaust
Valve Lash
0000 0000
Valve Lift
.377 .363
Duration
248Âş 246Âş

Now if I understood correctly the difference in the TI's is the duration which is 219deg and 212deg but the lift is the same this is due to not having enough material to get to that duration.

Also Santino (Santiago?) can you please PM me I need to talk to you regading your cams/ and what you have in your car now cam-wise.

I know this sounds redundant but I wanted you to hear it from me first hand.

I assume $325 shipped is to anywhere in the US and that Canada would have a bit of an extra charge ($10-$20 or so).

If this is the case, then put me on the list.

#31 ·
Indeed I am going to put you on the list :D

#32 ·
Ok one more and then I am pushing this order through and anyone who wants in after that for this round can reply up until the last payment has been received :D
